miR-223 was found to be highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and the corresponding gastric mucosal tissues, specifically in patients with lymph-node metastasis or metastatic disease at the advanced pathological M1 stage, in which the expression of the target FBXW7/hCDC4, a general tumour suppressor gene, was inversely correlated in the study [80]. Here, FBXW7 is linked to metastatic neoplasm.
