The over-expression of miR-519d was found to have an oncogenic role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with promoting effects on cell proliferation, invasion and apoptotic impairment by directly targeting the tumour suppressor gene PTEN, insulin regulating gene AKT3 and endothelial suppressing gene TIMP2 [88]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
