AGT and Hypertension: Taking into account that BM-derived cells are responsible of maintaining, generating, and replacing differentiated cells as a consequence of physiological cell turnover or tissue damage due to injury, the data obtained by this study suggested that comorbidities, specifically Ang II-dependent hypertension, have to be particularly considered if autologous transplantation is intended, since the donor tissue (i.e., bone marrow) might be altered in its functionality.
