Because we were able to detect targets expressed specifically in MM SP cells (e.g., G2/M-related, polycomb and proteasome-related genes), we examined the effects of an aurora kinase inhibitor (VX-680) [31] and a proteasome inhibitor (bortezomb) [32], [33] on RPMI 8226 and AMO1 SP cells, which express different ABC transporters (RPMI 8226 SP: ABCG2; AMO1 SP: ABCB1). This evidence concerns the gene ABCB1 and Miyoshi myopathy.
