This region overlaps a solute carrier family 45 member 1 gene (SLC45A1, position: 8,306,977–8,326,814) that is predominantly expressed in brain tissues and is also seen frequently deleted in brain tumor cells, suggesting a putative role as a tumor suppressor [53], however, the clear picture of its biological mechanism is far from complete. This evidence concerns the gene SLC45A1 and brain neoplasm.
