However, we were able to replicate the effects of FGFR1 knockdown on proliferation in long-term MTT assays and soft agar colony formation, and our conclusion that FGFR1 inhibition does not attenuate primary tumor growth is based on BGJ-398 therapy in established UM-UC3 tumors rather than on experiments with cells stably transduced with an FGFR1 shRNA (where FGFR1 would not be available for tumor establishment), so we are confident that the results of the two studies are consistent with each other.
