To examine how SAHA treatment enhanced the synthesis of MUC1-associated sLea in RWPE-1 cells but did not affect the expression of sLea in the prostatic cancer cells, we performed real time PCR analyses to determine the expression levels of MUC1 gene and glycosyltransferase genes involved in the synthesis of sLea in these cells treated with PBS or SAHA. This evidence concerns the gene MUC1 and prostate cancer.
