In brief, OPRK1, GRIA2, GABRA4 and GRIA3 are important components of the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathway; BCL2, BDNF and NFKB1 belong to the neurotrophin signalling pathway; GRIA2 and ADCY1 are involved in long-term potentiation with the additional role of GRIA2 in long-term depression together with GRIA3. The genes BCL2, GRIA2 and SLC1A2 are also components of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) pathway. This evidence concerns the gene GRIA2 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
