Indeed, we found that α-tomatine inhibits TNF-α-induced Akt activation, although further experiments are needed to address if this effect is responsible for the changes we observed in phosphorylation and translocation of NF-κB components or the anti-tumor actions of α-tomatine against subcutaneous and orthotopic tumors grown in mice.
