In the present study, we constructed an SMC1A-specific small interfering RNA (siRNA)-lentiviral vector that is capable of effectively inhibiting the expression of the SMC1A gene in human lung adenocarcinoma A549 and H1299 cells and systemically investigated the impacts of SMC1A silencing on the growth and invasive ability of the cancer cells in vitro. The gene discussed is SMC1A; the disease is cancer.
