TTR and axial length measurement: There is increasing evidence that 99mTc-DPD scintigraphy can image amyloid deposition in the myocardium with a greater sensitivity among patients with TTR-related cardiac amyloidosis (both mutant and wild-type) than immunoglobulin AL-related amyloidosis, and that, compared with a small series of normal controls, it is a highly specific imaging tool that can facilitate the differential diagnosis between TTR and AL cardiac amyloidosis in routine practice [47,87].
