In tumors of different histological origin (e.g., gastric, colon, prostate, breast, AML and brain carcinomas) a shift in the Ang-1-to-Ang-2 expression ratio in favor of Ang-2 was found to be associated with tumor angiogenesis and poor prognosis [11]–[13]. The gene discussed is ANGPT1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
