In a study to identify a new cancer gene using genome-wide genotyping on mutation negative adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene in Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) family which was matched to on ethnicity and healthy controls, a CNA region at 3q26.1 was shown to be commonly lost in all polyps and was suggested to be precursors to CRC. Here, APC is linked to Familial adenomatous polyposis.
