INS and Glucose intolerance: Co-treatment with an antioxidant NAC effectively blocked Cd-induced toxicological effects of β-cells, including: cytotoxicity (5 μM CdCl2, 73.27±3.45%, with NAC, 97.25±2.97% of control; 20 μM CdCl2, 44.23±7.25%, with NAC, 99.43±1.93% of control, respectively, n = 6, p<0.05 as compared with CdCl2 alone, data not show), suppressed the insulin secretion (Figure 1B and Figure S2–A), elevated in glucose intolerance (Figure S2–B) and oxidative stress injuries (Figure 2 and Figure S2–C).
