In comparison to Controls with no known contacts to infectious TB, a significant decrease in the proportion of CD14(+) monocytes (Figure 4(b), left) and CD14(+)LFA-1(+) (Figure 9(b), left) monocytes was found in patients with active TB or nonmycobacterial lung diseases and in work contacts exposed to M.tb for a long time. Here, CD14 is linked to tuberculosis.
