Ephrin-A5+/+ mice with the CP49 mutation at P60 (Ephrin-A5+/+;CP49−/−) were found to be transparent with no observable light obstruction (Figure 7A), while ephrin-A5−/− mice with wild-type, heterozygous, or homozygous mutant CP49 all developed cataracts at similar frequencies (Ephrin-A5−/−;CP49+/+: 100% [n=4]; Ephrin-A5−/−;CP49+/−: 73% (n=11); Ephrin-A5−/−;CP49−/−: 83% (n=6), Figure 7B-D).
