After adjustment of this model for sex, age, BMI, smoking, and drinking, the statistical significance of the polymorphisms did not vary, and both the rs1279683 (SLC23A2) and the rs737723 (SEC14L2/TAP) polymorphisms remained significantly associated (p<0.0125, after correction for multiple testing) with POAG risk (adjusted OR 3.20, 95% CI 1.94–5.29, p<0.001 for the rs1279683 polymorphism and adjusted OR 2.22, 95% CI 1.41–3.51, p=0.001 for the rs737723 polymorphism). This evidence concerns the gene SLC23A2 and open-angle glaucoma.
