VEGFA and neoplasm: The anti-angiogenic agent bevacizumab (Avastin®; Genentech Inc., San Francisco, CA, USA; Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, Basel, Switzerland) is a humanized monoclonal antibody with binding specificity for vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF): it has the potential to decrease the size of a tumor by reducing its blood supply and enhancing the activity of cytotoxic therapies.
