In myeloid leukemia, preclinical and clinical trials involving vaccination with peptides derived from a number of leukemia antigens, including WT1, BCR-ABL, PML-RARα, PR1 or RHAMM, have demonstrated evidence for immunogenicity, but there are limited data concerning the clinical efficacy of vaccine-based approaches. The gene discussed is WT1; the disease is myeloid leukemia.
