TAT and hypertensive disorder: An NO-donor GC analogue (‘nitro-steroid’) has been found to offer an enhanced anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effect in rodent models [48], while preventing GC-induced hypertension [49]; and a prednisolone/dipyridamole combination also provides greater anti-inflammatory effect in acute and chronic models, with reduced GC-induced HPA axis suppression and Tat induction [50] – a combination which is currently in phase II development for RA.
