AKT1 and Autoimmunity: The expression of a constitutively active form of Akt enhances the differentiation of all Th subsets including Th17 cells (Arimura et al. 2004; Kurebayashi et al. 2012), and T-cell-specific deletion of Foxo1 and Foxo3a results in the autoimmunity with an increased Th17 differentiation in vivo (Ouyang et al. 2010).
