Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma is associated with a fusion protein resulting from translocations in the PAX3 or PAX7 genes and FOXO1. The fusion protein activates the IGF-1R promoter, resulting in increased receptor expression (Ayalon et al., 2001; Xiao et al., 2002). This evidence concerns the gene IGF1R and alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma.
