To test this possibility, we intracranially injected U-87MG, U-87MG-control, FoxQ1-shRNA2, and NRXN3-rescue cells into nude mice and found that U-87MG and Control cells produced brain tumors in all of the injected mice, and NRXN3-rescue cells produced brain tumor in 4 of 5 injected mice, however, the FoxQ1-shRNA2 cells produced brain tumor in only one injected mice (Fig. 5D). The gene discussed is NRXN3; the disease is brain neoplasm.
