Antagonizing CXCL8 with an α-CXCL8 antibody and blocking leukotrienes, such as LTB4, with an antagonist incompletely prevents neutrophil chemotaxis in COPD patients [6], suggesting that other chemo-attractants are involved in neutrophil migration in COPD. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
