HDAC9 and dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy: HDAC inhibitors, such as suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA) [14], sodium butyrate (SB) [15] and trichostatin (TSA) [16], have been demonstrated to be effective in upregulating histone acetylation and in ameliorating motor impairments in mouse models of Huntington's disease (HD), spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy (SBMA) and dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA).
