Experimental observations indicate that IL-22 application in murine endotoxemia fails to significantly affect production of the pro-inflammatory cytokines TNFα, IL-6, and IFNγ analyzed in the early phase (up to 8 h after onset of endotoxemia) of the syndrome (Wolk et al., 2004; Scheiermann et al., 2012). This evidence concerns the gene IL22 and serum lipopolysaccharide activity.
