To validate the association of RAD51D mutations to ovarian cancer and assess if there is any risk for breast cancer risk, we screened all coding exons in germline DNA from an unselected cohort of 245 unselected ovarian cancer patients and BRCA1/2-unrelated index cases from 1,060 breast and/or ovarian cancer families. The gene discussed is RAD51D; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
