To investigate whether the functional outcome of the transcriptional program mediated by TAZ and YAP confers prognostic value in colon cancer patients, we analyzed whether the mRNA expression of AXL and CTGF, two of the most well defined target genes of TAZ/YAP-TEAD complexes, correlate with survival of patients in the two colon cancer patient cohorts. This evidence concerns the gene WWTR1 and colonic neoplasm.
