Similar to the results in Fig. 7A, in TLR2 knockdown cells MAPK activation was reduced and the overall pattern between opsonized and non-opsonized bacteria was maintained; whereas in CD11b knockdown cells, enhanced activation was observed for both ERK1/2 and p38 following infection with serum-opsonized bacteria, now equivalent to the level seen with non-opsonized bacteria. Here, MAPK3 is linked to infection.
