Gli2, a transcription factor of the Hh pathway, regulates expression of downstream target genes, including Gli1, Bcl-2, c-FLIP, cyclin D1, c-Myc and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) [32-35], which has previously been implicated in the development of various human tumors, such as medulloblastomas, basal cell carcinoma, prostate and breast cancer, and HCC [28,36-38], Gli2 was reportedly overexpressed and related to poor survival of patients with pediatric medulloblastoma. This evidence concerns the gene GLI2 and breast carcinoma.
