Double-immunostaining using polyclonal antibodies with cross-reactivity against HBA1 and HBB and an antibody specific for p16INK4A, a specific marker of cervical cancer used for cytology and histological diagnosis [28], [29], showed the co-localization of Hgb with p16INK4A in cervical cancer tissues (Fig. 2I–P). Here, HBA1 is linked to cervical carcinoma.
