Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is highly expressed in GBM and is a critical component of the pathophysiology (Folkman, 1995; Jain et al., 2007) and numerous experimental studies have supported a major role for VEGF in tumor angiogenesis (Dowlati and Fu, 2008). The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is glioblastoma.
