The cytotoxicity of compounds 1–3 against human liver carcinoma (HepG2 and HepG3), human breast carcinoma (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231), and human lung carcinoma (A-549) cell lines and the ability of 1–3 to inhibit up-regulation of the pro-inflammatory iNOS and COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) proteins in LPS (lipopolysaccharide)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cells were also evaluated. Here, PTGS2 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
