Interestingly, another member of the MTG family, MTG16, is also found fused to RUNX1 in AML with t(16;21) translocation, and the resulting fusion protein RUNX1-MTG16 (AML1-MTG16) shares most of the molecular features of RUNX1-ETO [79,80]. This evidence concerns the gene RUNX1T1 and acute myeloid leukemia.
