However, subsequent studies revealed that EBV specific CD8+ T-cells and, in several cases, also CMV-specific CD8+ T-cells could be locally enriched in other chronic inflammatory joint disorders (Reiter’s syndrome, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis) and in a few patients with inflammatory processes affecting other organs (uveitis, encephalitis and MS) [73,74].
