Regarding the aetiologies of liver cirrhosis, patients with CP class B and C had higher rate of alcoholism, compared to those with CP class A. The ANOVA test showed significant between-group differences in serum levels of albumin (p < 0.001), aspartate aminotransferase (AST; p < 0.001), total bilirubin (p < 0.001), and direct bilirubin (p < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and alcohol drinking.
