Lesions that develop in mice overexpressing TGFβ1 have high levels of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines similar to Th1 inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis [91], and the pattern of gene expression in inflamed skin is similar but not identical to that of psoriasis [93], where TGFβ1 is also overexpressed in lesional keratinocytes and sera [94, 95]. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and psoriasis.
