Furthermore, a coexpression of HGF/MET was seen in normal OSE from patients with familial history of ovarian cancer (FH-OSE) compared to those with no familial history (NFH-OSE), suggesting that HGF/MET pathway might play a role in the enhanced susceptibility to ovarian carcinogenesis in women with hereditary ovarian cancer syndromes [38].
