There is increasing evidence suggesting that activation of the AT2 receptor could improve cerebral blood flow and microcirculation as well as decrease inflammation [93, 103, 135, 136], both being associated with improvement in cognitive function following cerebral ischemia [90, 93, 103, 137] (for reviews, see [3, 10, 14, 49]). The gene discussed is AGTR2; the disease is brain ischemia.
