Several risk factors of prolonged QTc interval among patients with diabetes have been cited in the literature including age [17, 18], gender [19], components of insulin resistance syndrome such as BMI [20, 21], hypertension [5, 17–20, 22], insulin concentration [21, 23, 24], hyperglycemia [16, 25], diabetic microvascular complications such as diabetic retinopathy [19], neuropathy [19] and microalbuminuria, and preexisting coronary heart disease [18, 20].
