In this report, we describe a complete pathway including a specific stimulus (high glucose) inducing an miRNA (miR‐467), a molecular mechanism regulated by this miRNA (translational silencing of TSP‐1 as a result of the direct binding to a specific binding site in 3′ UTR), and a physiological effect (induction of angiogenesis in vivo), resulting in the association of 2 pathologies: hyperglycemia and accelerated angiogenesis and tumor growth. Here, THBS1 is linked to Hyperglycemia.
