Aromatase inhibitors such as anastrozole, letrozole and exemestane (Fig. 22) have found roles in the treatment of breast cancer [106], ovarian cancer [107] and growth maximisation in puberty in children with short stature [108], and it has been suggested that aromatase inhibitors may have a role to play in treating some cases of lung cancer [109]. The gene discussed is CYP19A1; the disease is lung cancer.
