Fig. 1C shows that MDD-only was significantly associated with MDD-only at all subsequent time points, but that GAD-only and GAD + MDD were never significantly associated with MDD-only. Further, as seen in Fig. 1C (dashed and compound lines), the strength of association between MDD-only→MDD-only was significantly greater than that of GAD-only→MDD-only for all time-point pairings, all Δχ2(1) > 5.3, P < .05, and GAD + MDD→MDD-only for all time-point pairings, all Δχ2(1) > 6.2, P < .05. The gene discussed is GAD1; the disease is major depressive disorder.
