Simon and Burgor-Vargas [66] described a patient with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and vitiligo who was treated with infliximab (a chimeric monoclonal anti-TNF antibody), which resulted in gradual fading of vitiligo lesions suggesting that TNF-α was involved in the pathogenesis of vitiligo. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and ankylosing spondylitis.
