As compared with controls, LOAD cases were older (79.8 vs. 73.2 years old); included more females (64% vs. 52%); had a lower education level (≤6 years: 51% vs. 11%), fewer with the history of hypertension (39% vs. 54%) or with hypercholesteremia (18% vs. 30%), and more ApoE e4 carriers (39% vs. 15%, Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and hypertensive disorder.
