MTUS1 and nervous system disorder: Therefore considering (i) the previously described function of the AT2 receptor in preservation of cognitive function, (ii) the role of ATIP protein in AT2 receptor function, and (iii) the link between ATIP protein and microtubule cytoskeleton, it could be suggested that regulation of ATIP expression and regulation of its association with the AT2 receptor could be an important element to consider with regard to the development of neurological disorders, such as AD.
