Inhibition of BRD4 using BRD4-specific RNAi or JQ1, a BET bromodomain inhibitor that blocks BRD4-binding to acetylated histones, showed profound antileukemic effects in AML mouse models as well as in various human AML cell lines and in primary leukemic cells obtained from AML patients [33].
