In MSI-positive GCs, ACVR2A, RPL22, LMAN1, and STAU2 were observed to have recurrent single base thymine deletions in poly(T) regions (Table S11 in Additional file 1) and this was confirmed in a screen of an additional 94 gastric cancer/normal paired samples (9 MSI-positive; Table S12 in Additional file 5 and Figure S9 and Note 9 in Additional file 1). This evidence concerns the gene ACVR2A and gastric cancer.
