Using serum IGF-I or IGFBP-3 concentrations as continuous variables, we observed non-significant associations between increasing concentrations of IGF-I (men: OR for one standard deviation (SD) increase 1.2 [95% CI 0.95-1.50]; women: OR 0.97 [95% CI 0.80-1.19]) or IGFBP-3 (men: OR 1.13 [95% CI 0.93-1.38]; women: OR 1.11 [95% CI 0.96-1.29]) and CKD (Figure 2). The gene discussed is IGF1; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
