Since it is possible that tumor heterogeneity in the tissue lysates used in Western blotting may confound the results, future studies using immunohistochemical staining on an ovarian tumor tissue microarray to compare SRPK1 levels in a larger collection of ovarian tumors with normal tissue samples are warranted to clearly delineate the impact of SRPK1 expression on clinicopathologic characteristics of ovarian cancer. This evidence concerns the gene SRPK1 and neoplasm.
