Immunohistochemistry showed that SON was strongly expressed in the nuclei of cancer cells in most ductal adenocarcinomas significantly more obviously than in the nuclei of non-neoplastic ducts or pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PanIN), a precursor lesion of ductal adenocarcinoma (p < 0.001 by ANOVA) (Figure 3 and Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene SON and cancer.
